Introducing the Party

The Afghanistan Green Party

(in French Parti Vert Afghan en Exil, hereafter “the Party”) is an Afghan political party founded in exile and officially registered as a non-profit association under French law (loi 1901) on 10 April 2026 with the Préfecture de Police de Paris. Its headquarters are in Paris, France.

The Afghanistan Green Party represents a necessary break in Afghan political life. It is the first Afghan green party ever to be officially registered, and it makes the deliberate choice to build itself outside the traditional structures that have driven our country into deadlock. It is led by Afghan women and men whom nothing predestined for power — neither birth, nor wealth, nor membership in any armed faction — but whose love for their people and democratic conviction have led them into political engagement.

Our Political Family

The Party recognises itself fully in the worldwide family of green political thought. It embraces the six guiding principles of the Global Greens Charter, signed in Canberra in 2001 by more than 800 delegates from 72 countries, and most recently updated at the South Korea Congress in 2023:

Ecological wisdom

Social justice

Participatory democracy

Respect for diversity

Non-violence

Sustainability

These universal principles, we adapt to Afghan realities and to the millennia-old experience of a people whose culture, spirituality and relationship to the land carry within themselves a profound ecological wisdom.

The Party intends to formally apply for membership of Global Greens once its internal structure is consolidated.

Our mission & vision

Together we the people achieve more than any single
person could ever do alone.

Democracy and Solidarity

Afghanistan cannot survive under tyranny. We fight for democracy, equality, and solidarity among all communities, so that no Afghan is left behind.

Women and the Future

There is no future without Afghan women. We defend the right of every girl to study, to work, and to live free — because women's freedom is Afghanistan's freedom. .

Equality and solidarity

The environment is the foundation of peace. We protect Afghanistan’s nature, promote renewable energy, and link ecological justice with social justice.
