3. Mission & Vision

Our Mission

The Afghanistan Green Party’s mission is to build, from exile, a political force capable of offering the Afghan people a democratic, ecological, peaceful and just alternative to the successive authoritarian regimes that have stolen the country’s future.

This mission unfolds in four operational commitments:

  1. To represent the Afghan diaspora politically before French, European and international institutions, and to make the voice of a democratic Afghanistan heard, in the very places where the Taliban regime claims to speak in our name.
  2. To actively defend human rights in Afghanistan, particularly the rights of women, children, ethnic and religious minorities, journalists, artists, and defenders of liberties.
  3. To carry Afghanistan’s climate voice in international forums (UNFCCC COPs, UN agencies, climate foundations), since the de facto authorities are excluded from them while our people nonetheless suffer gravely from the climate crisis.
  4. To methodically prepare the future democratic transition: to train a new generation of political leaders, to structure a programme of government, to build solid international alliances — so that one day, when that day comes, Afghanistan may recover the sovereignty of its people.

Our Six Thematic Axes

The Party’s action unfolds around six axes drawn from the Global Greens Charter and adapted to Afghan realities.

1. Ecological transformation

To make Afghanistan, tomorrow, an exemplary country for ecological transition in Central Asia: promotion of renewable energy (solar, wind, small-scale hydropower), sustainable and resilient agriculture, reforestation, protection of the glaciers of the Hindu Kush, equitable management of water resources shared with Iran, Pakistan and the countries of Central Asia.

2. International advocacy

To build active partnerships with European and global green parties (Global Greens, European Green Party, Asia-Pacific Greens Federation), with human-rights NGOs, and with United Nations institutions. To have Afghanistan recognised, in international climate forums, as a subject in its own right — and not as a diplomatic embarrassment.

3. Human rights

To defend, without compromise, the rights of Afghan women, whose current situation constitutes one of the gravest human-rights regressions of the 21st century. To protect ethnic and religious minorities. To support defenders of liberties, journalists, artists and academics under threat.

4. Participatory democracy

To reject the pyramidal model in which politics belongs to warlords and hereditary clans. To build an open democracy in which young people, women, minorities and civil society have a real place in political decision-making. To promote, tomorrow, an Afghan Constitution founded on the sovereignty of the people.

5. Peace and security

To affirm, in line with the principles of world green politics, that peace is built politically, not by arms. To work for every initiative of inter-Afghan dialogue, to support international mediation, to refuse any return to logics of civil war, to disarm Afghan political culture itself.

6. Organising the diaspora

To make the Afghan diaspora — in France, in Europe, in North America, in Australia — a political laboratory in which tomorrow’s Afghanistan is invented. To structure local chapters, organise conferences, train activists, mobilise energies, federate what exile has not broken but rather awakened.

Our 2035 Vision
By 2035, the Afghanistan Green Party carries the vision of an Afghanistan:

Free

freed from any authoritarian regime, governed by a democratic Constitution adopted by referendum.

United

where ethnic divisions — the historic cancer of our country — will have given way to equal rights and political fraternity.

Green

engaged in an exemplary ecological transition in Central Asia, equipped with renewable-energy infrastructure and resilient agriculture in the face of climate change.

Just

, where women live free, study, work and govern at parity; where minorities are protected, and where no child grows up in humiliation for what they are.

Peaceful

having broken with forty years of war, and recognising non-violence as a constitutive value of its democratic life.

Sovereign and supportive,

, a respected partner of Europe and of the world, a contributor to the international community and no longer only a recipient of aid.

It’s Election Day-Go Vote!

Together we the people achieve more than any single person could ever do alone.
